Advanced Management Studies (KIAMS).
About the institute
The Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies (KIAMS)
was started for Kirloskar Group managers to share their learning.
Realising since, the need to open up to the rest of industry,
the training institute is now open to all managers.

In a little over four years, KIAMS has trained over 1,500
managers in about 100 management development programmes. The
institute continuously evolves new modules/segments to cater
to specific customer requirements with an emphasis on situational
relevance. The result is the development of case studies rooted
in the Indian context, which the institute uses in addition
to the standard cases from foreign sources.
The managerial use of computers is also an area of emphasis.
A collection of several user-friendly packages in areas such
as Project Management, Manufacturing Simulation, Statistical
Analysis etc enhance the learning experience. Small group,
participative learning through exercises and presentations
and skill - based modules on negotiations and presentation
skills are included in all the long - duration (4 week) programmes.
Consultancy and in-house training
KIAMS faculty offers consultancy in all functional areas
of management for companies who wish to conduct in-company
training programmes exclusively for their executives. 2 to
3 day modules are offered on request. Some of the popular
in-company programmes are Cost Analysis and Reduction, Financial
Management for Non-finance Executives and Inventory Management.
Executive residential centre
The KIAMS executive residential centre has 32 well-equipped
rooms; when shared by two participants this creates a capacity
of upto 64 participants per session.
