These marks are registered in India under the Trademarks / Service Mark Act, Copyright Act and some marks are registered in several other countries under relevant laws.

Kirloskar Proprietary Ltd. started its operations in 1965 and is registered under the Companies Act 1956.

Areas of business

Kirloskar name, ‘Kirloskar’ mark and other marks / copyrights are used by various Kirloskar companies in relation to their products and services. The terms of use of these marks, logos and trade name are governed by the Brand Use and Copyright Use Agreements executed between Kirloskar Proprietary Ltd. and individual group companies.

Kirloskar Proprietary Ltd. has also permitted use of mark to Authorised Generating Set Manufactures and suppliers of Aggregates for generating set manufacture of Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., the Sponsored Brand Users.

In addition to the above, the company's activities are:

· To protect and defend its ownership rights under relevant acts

· To detect counterfeiting of goods carrying its marks, and take appropriate action under the laws

· To promote its marks by communicating the values and implicit promise of quality and service customers can expect from goods and services under the marks.

· To assist group companies achieve business excellence through the Ravi Kirloskar Quality Prize Award model, and through CII EXIM Bank Business Excellence Model.

· To devise Human Resource strategies and policies, and facilitate implementation across Kirloskar group

· To assess Employee and Customer Satisfaction across group companies and assist group companies to achieve rising expectations of employees and customers.

· To promote brand “Kirloskar” and also serve a social cause by offering Business Management education to students and practicing executives through premises at Village Dhamane, Taluka Maval, District Pune.

The educational institute at this location is operated by Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies (http://www.kiams-hrr.org). Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies is a reputed institute in this field and have campus at Harihar in Karnataka since 1991.
